Pantone has done it again, and this year is no exception. We would like to introduce you to the 2022 Pantone colour of the year, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri! Peri is short for Periwinkle, which is a flower that is traditionally violet, blue or white.

To ring in the new year, we couldn’t be happier with this luxurious and dynamic colour with a blue hue and a violet-red undertone that Pantone themselves have created. Very Peri is a timeless blend of a soft blue and a vibrant pop of energy with the red. This is the first year in the history of Pantone that they have themselves created a unique colour. Pantone Colour Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman toldCNN the following, “It was really important for us to come up with a new colour because we have a very new vision of the world now.”

Why Very Peri?

According to Pantone, this colour indicates the digital and physical landscape that we are seeing in our current lives. As the world slowly exited from isolation, it became apparent what role the digital era played during the pandemic. Very Peri illustrates the fusion of modern life and how colour trends in the digital world.

PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages imaginative creativity and lively expression. Just like Very Peri embraces the new era of virtual merging with reality, it’s time to adopt some magical hues within your retail packaging.
