Those born in November are lucky enough to have two gorgeous gems as their birthstones and are a part of the zodiac Scorpio. Scorpios are often misunderstood due to its comparison with the scorpion, a harsh insect with killer instincts, however, Scorpios are kind, loyal and honest. One of the stones for the eleventh month is Morganite, which comes in a soft pink hue, and the other is sunny Citrine. They call the Citrine stone a gift from the sun. 

Citrine Birthstone

Citrine is the yellow variety of quartz, and its name comes from the Old French word for lemon. For some, citrine is considered a healing gemstone, calming, soothing and comforting and is said to spark the imagination. In ancient times, citrine was carried as a protection against snake venom and evil thoughts. This wonderful stone has a rich history that goes back 150BC in Scotland, where citrine was forged into swords and daggers, ready for battle. 


The citrine has even caught the eye of many celebrities. In 2015, Angelina Jolie donated a massive citrine necklace to the Smithsonian Institution’s National Gem Collection. The breathtaking18k yellow gold necklace, designed by Jolie herself! Today, however, the citrine is known as the “merchant stone” to bring wealth and prosperity.
