How does it work?

Step 1: Design Screens Engraved

Your logo or design is transferred onto two separate mesh screens using a UV light exposure process - one screen for each ink colour. Creating the screens typically takes around 1½ hours.

Step 2: Job Set-up

Your chosen Pantone® inks are mixed, and the printing set-up is prepared. Each mesh screen is aligned precisely with the position required on the box, and test prints are carried out to ensure accurate registration, colour density and a clean, even result. Each colour is prepared and tested separately.

Step 3: Print & Dry

Once testing is complete, production begins. The first colour is printed by pushing ink through the mesh screen with a squeegee, depositing a crisp layer of colour onto each box. After drying, the process is repeated with the second colour, ensuring precise alignment between both prints.

Step 4: Finished Result

Your boxes are complete, featuring your logo or design in two Pantone®-matched ink colours, applied smoothly to the surface of the box with a clean, vibrant finish.

Can I get a printed sample box?

Yes, we can produce a physical printed sample, but please note that it can be costly due to the set-up involved. To keep things efficient, we provide a free digital proof of your logo on your chosen gift box style. This is supplied for your approval before we proceed with your bulk order, and most customers find it gives a good visual representation of the final printed result.

Can I use RGB, CMYK or HEX references for screen printing?

Screen printing is an ink based printing method, which means we need a Pantone® reference in order to match your colour accurately. It's similar to the paint matching process you would use in decorating. If you don't have your brand colour as a Pantone® reference we can convert from other formats to achieve a close Pantone® match.

My design includes small text or details, will this work for two colour screen printing?

We can usually include details and text in screen printing, however, as ink is semi-liquid, we sometimes have to make small amendments to the design to get the best result for your boxes.

Can I print a logo with gradients or shading?

Screen print is a solid branding technique so it is not possible to include gradients or shading, but we can produce a design like this using multi-colour digital printing.

Can I have a gloss effect on my screen printing?

Yes, please select ‘Gloss Screen/Digital Print’ from our top menu and you will see this can be added on top of your 1-colour design.
